I have always connected profoundly with Massage Therapy as a form of health care, finding a sense of healing comfort through hands on therapy. That is what initially drew me into this field. I have lived in the lower mainland all my life. From a young age I have been active in gymnastics, dance, and aerial circus. Through personal experience I have discovered firsthand how helpful the manual therapies can be. It is my intention to assist in the recovery and prevention of injury, and help to bring relief to those experiencing pain or discomfort in their daily lives. I wish to instill knowledge of one’s own body and what it needs to restore optimal function. I like to convey an atmosphere of efficacy while maintaining a relaxed environment where you can feel at ease. I’m very happy to have my practice at Port Moody’s Integrated Health, where I work alongside skilled and knowledgeable health care practitioners. If you have any questions regarding an appointment please call 604 725 1210 or email at

Jennifer Mackie born and raised in Victoria, BC moved to England after high school and for five years enjoyed backpacking throughout the UK and Europe. There, she began her health science education achieving an International Sports Therapy Diploma, leading to a love for manual therapy. In 1999 she returned to Canada to study massage therapy and graduated in June 2003 from the three year program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy (Vernon, BC). She earned her Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) license from the College of Massage Therapists in February 2004. In addition to her clinical career, Jennifer has had the opportunity to supervise RMT students in outreach placements such as BC Women’s Hospital, and the in-house student clinic at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. She has trained newly employed RMTs at Spa Utopia, and she continues to work as a teaching assistant for post-graduate RMT courses.

During your treatment time in a comforting, professional space, Jennifer will guide you through an assessment, work with you to decide the goals you wish to achieve with massage therapy and will use a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to your specific goals. These techniques may include a combination of orthopedic assessment, neuromuscular (trigger point) therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy, joint mobilizations, swedish (relaxation) massage, as well as education in stretching, strengthening and hydrotherapy recommended for your use at home to continue progressing.

Jennifer holds post-graduate certification and interest in: Muscle Energy: using isometric muscle contraction against a counter force applied by the therapist in order to decrease tension, rigidity and pain in areas such as the back and neck. Joint Mobilizations: subtle, gentle treatment for dysfunction of the ribs, sternum, clavicle and vertebrae. Perinatal Health: pre + postnatal treatments using a specifically designed body cushion for full support and comfort during your childbearing year. Women’s Health: breast health, cyclical pain/soreness, or pre + post-surgical procedures.

I started on the path to being a chiropractor in 1982 after a motorcycle accident left me with debilitating chronic pain for years. After countless treatments and appointments with a variety of specialists, I met a very special chiropractor who was able to help me. He changed my life and helped define my purpose. I think, because of my own process to recovery, I enjoy the challenge of helping people with complex health problems. When there is nothing that conventional medicine can find, the problem often becomes one of altered function and that’s where my team and I really shine. My patients tell me that they are grateful for the passion and commitment I bring to their care. I have a unique ability to recognize the patterns that exist in the myriad of symptoms my patients live through. My experience is that within these patterns is the pathway to health. People of all ages, from birth to 100, from professional athletes to busy moms, come to me to help them achieve normal pain free function. As part of their treatment, I help them develop strategies to move through their lives with ease and full potential. I am a full-blown road cycling addict and in August 2014 completed a seven-day cycling race through the French Alps. I am also very interested in (since I am one) the aging athlete and how to best treat, maintain, and preserve function over time. So when I’m not working, I can usually be found on my bicycle, riding my Vespa, doing yoga, or enjoying time with friends and family.

In her practice, Dr. Scott focuses on identifying and removing the causes of imbalance in her patients; helping their bodies return to a natural state of balance and good health. Once these blockages have been identified and removed, she then teaches her patients how they can take an active role in their health and wellness while she supports their efforts to move upstream towards optimal health.

Dr. Scott was born in the southern United States and grew up in Belgium and France. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and in 2003 she obtained a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She also had the opportunity to study for two months in a Homeopathic Hospital in Bombay, India, where homeopaths and medical doctors work side by side.

In addition to the healing arts, Dr. Scott is passionate about traveling and the outdoors. Her travels through more than 30 countries have seen her cycle through Ireland and Vietnam, hike the Inca Trail in Peru, walk 600 miles on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, walk 2000 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Oregon, and climb Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. More recently, Dr. Scott spent a month kayaking in the Queen Charlottes.

Closer to home, Dr. Scott’s fitness program includes hiking, cycling, running, canoeing, skiing, snowshoeing, and enjoying the mountains and ocean of the Northwest. Cooking is one of her favorite ways to relax.
